Leaving the normal routes and take the river trekking you will be mesmerized by the hidden waterfalls of Beau-Songes. Locally known as Cascade Kaya, the track is very easy for beginners but if you are scared to wet your shoes, this is not for you. By crossing rivers, you will be able to enjoy a good time by the waterfall. It is not recommended to choose this track on a rainy day as the rocks can be slippery.
A hike to Rochester falls is a must if you are a waterfall lover. The path to the mesmerizing waterfalls is not difficult. If you are travelling to Mauritius, this kind of view is a must and the place is perfect for a picnic. It is not recommended to go there during heavy rainfall because of the force of powerful water. There are two ways to access the waterfalls. One is to be on the top of the waterfall and the other is to take the stoned track to reach the waterfall.

If you want to have a coaster hike which is very easy, this track is recommended. Walking from Medine across the sugar plantation to reach a forest and finally land to Bassin Vert. It’s a very relaxing hike and on the way you can find 2 beautiful caves which can be explored.
A few kilometers from the caves you’ll reach the cliff and a green pond (Bassin Vert). During rainy seasons you can witness a beautiful waterfall from the cliff. Local people enjoy their day by jumping from top of the cliff into the water for fun. This activity is recommended to regular divers.
If you have a curious and exploring mindset, you should not miss the 7 caves of Roche Noires. Roche noire is a small village found in the North East of Mauritius a few kilometres from bras d’eau forest. Roche Noires lava tubes caves are of volcanic origin. According to history, these caves served as a habitat for the slaves in the colonial era.
There are many interconnected lava tubes that appear on the surface as caves or freshwater springs. These lava tubes are a unique and amazing place to explore as they contain flowing water in places, complex sculpted rock formations, and many small off-shoots and rooms to explore. In this place, you can find cool air, solitude, and complete darkness on any given day. This unique and amazing place will make you discover rock formations from small to large caves.
